Since her mother died, Bethac Matheson has been protecting her younger brothers and baby sister and keeping their home for as long as she can remember. Despite her many responsibilities, she can’t resist helping  an almost dead man from the sea – and then nursing him back to health. As he heals and her home is threatened, the two must decide their story. Highland Chieftain is one of my favorite from Hannah Howell, with great characters, passion and a unique story.
