Praise for A Lady’s Code of Misconduct:

“Political intrigue and conspiracies abound in Duran’s engrossing fifth Rules for the Reckless Victorian romance (after Luck Be a Lady), which boasts plot twists galore…Duran is at the pinnacle of her craft as she weaves together humor, forgiveness, and love in a flawlessly executed plot. Jane, Crispin, and the rest of the characters are all well drawn, and the love scenes strike the perfect balance of steamy and sweet. Each layer in the story is suspenseful and delightful, making this the best installment so far.”

Publishers Weekly STARRED REVIEW

“A sham marriage, political intrigue, and a case of amnesia provide a backdrop for this absorbing Victorian romance. Although Duran (Luck Be a Lady, 2015, etc.) has written a novel as layered as an onion, the characters are well-drawn and the plot flawlessly executed. Add in some very steamy sex, and the fifth installment of Duran’s Rules for the Reckless series can’t help but delight. This book weaves its spell so thoroughly that the most fortunate reader will be the one who has time to read the entire thing in one sitting. A masterful tale of suspense, forgiveness, and love.”

Kirkus STARRED REVIEW

“Political intrigue drives a captivating historical romance…This Regency romance, part of the Rules for the Reckless series, is a smart love story, peopled with complex and absorbing characters.”

BookPage, TOP PICK IN ROMANCE

“A riveting story.”

—Heroes and Heartbreakers

“A masterful author of historical romances…A Lady’s Code of Misconduct takes worn threads of old tropes, like amnesia and the tortured hero, and weaves them into a lush tapestry with sophisticated, beautiful writing. Crispin seems power-mad and Jane seems saintly, but as Duran slowly unravels their characters amidst a plot of intrigue, betrayal, and dark secrets, we discover they’re more alike than they (or we) realize. The hero is swoonworthy, and I couldn’t help but fall in love with Jane as his flaws shine a light on her own. The tale and characters so captivated me, that I literally couldn’t put it down.”

—Omnivoracious Amazon Book Review by Sabrina Jeffries

“Thoughtfully written and the story creates not just a simple story of two people but an entire world for them to inhabit. If you like your historicals to have some meat to them, I highly recommend this one.”

—All About Romance

“Extremely relevant to our current political state…I could have easily sat and devoured this in one evening as each of the chapters seemed to end on a cliffhanger that just won’t let you put the book down. Quill says: A Lady’s Code of Misconduct is the perfect book to sit in your favorite chair with and let the world pass by for a little while you get lost in the past.”

—Feathered Quill

“I absolutely love this series… Meredith writes intelligent characters with a fast paced plot.  Her writing is sensual, witty and totally captivating.  This book has everything you would want in a Historical Romance.   It is witty, sensual with a mystery that will keep you guessing to the very end. Crispin and Jane are extraordinary characters in a riveting story that will leave you wanting more.  The journey of Crispin and Jane to their HAE is fabulous.  I will read anything that Meredith writes.”

—The Reading Wench

“A fun read. I enjoyed Duran’s characters and plot…there’s a villain who made me think of a Regency era James Bond villain.”

—Bookfan

A rumored violent war history and Scottish manners make the London Season something Hamish MacHugh would rather avoid, but he’s sticking around for his sisters’ sake. And Megan Windham sees more than an ominous war hero in him. While Hamish fights the battle of London’s society, Megan has her own battles to fight. The Trouble with Dukes is an enjoyable read, and it’s obvious that Grace Burrowes has many great novels up her sleeve. REVIEW FROM BOOKS FOR HER:

The whooping 11th book in the Maiden Lane Series, Duke of Pleasure is a fabulous historical fiction with action, romance and a little mystery. A Duke on a mission, Hugh Fitzroy is about to be killed when he’s strategically attacked. But a masked hero appears and helps him fight for his life. Only he discovers that hero is a her. As he continues his mission – on the streets of London and another mission at home with his two sons – the Duke finds an unlikely friend and ally who was raised on the streets.

REVIEW FROM BOOKS FOR HER:

Long-time penpals, Dr. Rhys Gray and Miss Margaret Babcock have been friends since he treated her father. Now he’s excited to help Margaret introduce her rose hybrids to the elite society of botanists in London. Though she’s not a traditional society lady, Margaret goes to London to present her prize plants. A quick-reading and fun historical romance, it had some of my favorite elements: A tomboy lady and set in the Regency Era.

I  haven’t read a Paula Quinn I haven’t liked – and A Highlander’s Christmas Kiss continues the tradition. When Temperance’s father is killed before her eyes, she vows revenge on the Black Riders. She soon discovers Cailean Grant almost dead close to her home – and brings him back to nurse him. Though her father’s wishes were for her to marry her long-time friend and the best protector for her home, she struggles with her attraction for Cailean. In a tale of hidden truths, lost trust and passion, Quinn’s highland romance is touching and passionate.

REVIEW FROM BOOKS FOR HER:

In a dual plotline that ties together seamlessly, Laura Madeleine weaves together the same story 80 years apart. In the 1980s a graduate university student discovers a photograph with a note “Forgive Me,” from her beloved grandfather’s things. At the same time a weasely biographer tries to tarnish her grandfather’s memory. Putting her graduate research aside, the girl investigates what happened 80 years ago at the famous Patisserie Clermont, a pastry shop in Paris, and you’ll become immersed in the pastry shop and the passion its people have for creating desserts. You’ll love both storylines and how they dramatically come together. A must-read for anyone who enjoys history, fiction and drama.

REVIEW FROM BOOKS FOR HER:

Sometimes it’s good to see the good girl get the guy, right? I mean most romances have the passionate, headstrong girl getting the guy – but what about the average girl. The one who’s always taking care of everyone else and never getting the attention she deserves. Well, Mary Jo Putney created this girl – only she’s not a boring, Cinderella heroine, she’s Athena Markham.

Despite not having your typical passionate storyline, there’s something special about creating the same masterpiece with a real, average girl romance – without the average girl feeling. Mary Jo Putney shows some versatility in Once A Soldier – and if you still wonder what I’m trying to explain, check it out for yourself. Shop all Mary Jo Putney on Amazon.
