Review: Gone Girl

Available now: Gone Girl

***4/5 stars

Boy meets girl and they get married.  Fairytale ends and 5 years later, girl disappears.  Was it boy?  Hold on to your hats, this dual-perspective whodunit will have you guessing and re-guessing until the end.

Recommended readers:

  • If you’re looking for a unique, fast-paced murder-mystery-thriller,
  • If you like stories that keep you guessing,
  • And if you like to catch the book before it’s a movie, this book is for you.

Here’s my Rankings:

  • 4/5 for characters
  • 4/5 for plot
  • 4/5 overall

REVIEW FROM BOOKS FOR HER:

It’s tough to say to much about this book without spoiling it.  Suffice to say it’s a good one and you’ll want to get on it before the movie comes out and everybody who wasn’t before already talking about it. You’ll wonder if you’re a Cool Girl, you’ll wonder if you’re nuts, you’ll wonder if you can ever really know anyone.   You’ll be readjusting your perspective until the very end, where things do, admittedly, fall a little flat.

And, of course, the movie is out in theaters now, featuring none other than Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike (remember Jane in the latest Pride and Prejudice with Keira Knightly).
