***Note from Books for Her: With the renewed popularity of the Fifty Shades series following the recently-released movie trailer (see below), we felt remiss not providing our followers with a review. The only problem? Neither of us had read it! And after questioning friends and browsing reviews, the overall takeaway was readers beware: It’s obviously one of those love it or hate it books. Here’s Books for Her’s guest take courtesy of Megan L:

Review:
Fifty Shades of Grey is a romance at heart with the classic scenario of experienced male meets virginal female. Without knowing much about the book when I started other than its reported eroticism, I found the actual writing atrocious, though I understand this book isn’t necessarily about the writing. However, Christian Grey is one messed up dude and I really don’t get the sexual appeal of the man. Definitely won’t be reading the rest of the series and probably won’t be seeing the movie when it comes out. I do know women who really enjoyed it and would recommend it. Fifty Shades of Grey is just not for me.
You have my utmost RESPECT for posting this review. I refuse to read this book because the very idea creeps me out and makes me nauseous. More than just sexual bondage comes with this kind of relationship. Ladies, please be careful! You are worth so much more.
