REVIEW FROM BOOKS FOR HER:
It’s been years since reading Danielle Steel – and the name means automatic books sales for many. If you have the patience to get through the first half of a slow-moving, slow-developing plotline, then you may love Daddy’s Girls more than me – and it may be worth the wait.
I loved the setting – a beautiful ranch in northern California – and the premise of three daughters raised by a single, hard-working father. But the story development was too slow and rather than showing us and having the reader experience the joys and challenges, the author tells us what happens. The first half feels like it’s read in monotone. But the second half blossoms. By then you know the characters and start to experience life with them and feel for them. It’s hard to recommend – but if you’re patient, you’ll be rewarded in the second half.
Available June 9, 2020: Daddy’s Girls by Danielle Steel.
